at http://www.rabidhardware.net/index.php?id=5 they have a guide for a pulsing LED. I can't find the needed parts at digi-key so I am looking at mouser and I've found two that appear close to me but I'd like to know if they will work since I know very little about electronics.

    To substitute for the Digi-key Part #LM1458N-ND ( LM1458N )op-amp.

    and

    to subsitute for the Digi-key Part #2N3904-ND ( 2N3904 ) NPN amplifier.

Also, for that last 100ohm resistor I cannot find it in1/4 watt. Will 1/8 watt work?

    Thanks,
    mikecx

Those two links you posted are for the exact same thing in the article. Good thing you didn't accidently order any SMD parts, since those are NOT for beginners.

1/4w 100ohm resistors (having print catalog is handy).

Thanks whypick1, I have a general knowledge of electronics but not near as good as I hope to have.

If you're thinking of buiding the rabid circuit you may be interested in this Phaeton thread. ;)
