I've er.. acquired some perspex type stuff at work :worried: .
It's about 4 or 5 mm thick and quite a big sheet. It's too big to carry on the train so I need to roughly cut some to get home, once home I can tidy it up and cut to the right size.
I have a stanley knife and some scissors and that's all - Anyone know how i can cut this so I can use it this weekend ?

(I tried scoring with the knife and snapping, but the knife just scratched it - didn't really help at all)

heat up the knife or you could use a jigsaw if you have one.

Hmm I wonder how long my cigarette lighter will last heating up the knife... :)

I haven't got a jigsaw (I work as a sysadmin so there's not many tools around heh) - I might have to bring one in next week if I can't cut it any other way.

Wonder how long it would take to chew through it...

You really need to get a jigsaw on it - scoring and snapping only works on the thin stuff.

How big? Place one end on a table, and the other end overhanging. Put a heavy weight on the table side and jump on the overhang.

    CAUTION:
May act as swimming pool diving board. Avoid balconies

I think I might just have to wait until Monday and bring my jigsaw to work...

you need to score the sheet then put it on a table with the score mark parallel with the edge of the table have someone hold down the end on the table then press down quickly it will bereak on the score line.
