How f**king stupid is it to have a single 2.0 usb internal header on a £200+ high end gaming motherboard in this day and age, even if it is mitx. So many things exist which plug into these. 1. F**king 1.

Asus, I am looking at you. Jesus titty f**king Christ.

I sense the OP is annoyed, i maybe be wrong though. ;)

Aren't internal headers only (mainly?) used for connecting up the cases front ports and don't most cases come with USB 3.0 ports these days? In other words i can't think of many things that plug into internal headers but if you're saying there are there must be.

The daft RGB lighting on the stock heatsink with my Ryzen, too, if you don't have a dedicated RGB header on your motherboard.

Corsair AiO coolers need a USB2 header too.

Some fan controllers (e.g. the Grid+) need a USB 2.0 header, iirc.

I use so many I've got two 7 port hubs in my main pc.

The case uses it (two!) And then every AC device like farbwerk for RGB, Aqua aero for pumps, PA3 for more fans and so on.

I'd be screwed without it. In fact, no boards I looked at for Ryzen even had enough. Apart from TR boards.

I have calmed down a little now. It is annoying spend upwards of £200 on a mobo then have to spend another 15 on a splitter for usb2 headers, more for fan header splitters etc. I am annoyed also because the SF750 cpu and 24 pin cables are too short for the Fractal define nano s and those 2 cables alone to purchase separately are ~£50.

Every time I have done a build in the last few years I always thing "never again". It's not fun anymore. Next time I may just buy pre-built. Taking the abuse is far easier then the stress this most recent one is causing and the cash I am blowing on parts I shouldn't have to be spending extra on.

I have a rather low end but perfectly serviceable Gigabyte B450 Motherboard.

Has one, yes one case fan header!
