is there such a thing as a highly reflective (mirror-like) spray paint? if so, it would be interesting to paint up the inside of a case then put in a few ccfl or high intensity led's, then blind the onlookers. or line the inside of the case with mirrors or alum foil?
Chrome paint. Should work ok within your case but if you paint something that you have/will touch you have to use some lacquer. http://www.metku.net/index.html?sect=view&n=1&path=mods/kromihiiri/index_eng
or, you could use metal polishing paste and a felt wheel for a dremel, then lacquer it... </damn laptop keyboard>
I looked and looked for "chrome" paint and all the ones that said it would be chrome were plain old silver with hardly no reflectivity at all - really ticked me off - now I've got a big silver computer. I wanted a mirror like finish. The closest I came was to make the final layers clearcoat and use 3M buffing compound to get it to shine. It does, but it's shiny silver, not chrome.
you could use some auto tint. they make it in chrome just use full sheets for every panel and it should look great! clean the case well first and take your time and do a good job
here in the Uk you can get acrylic mirror sheets. easy to cut to size.. http://www.technologysupplies.co.uk/
Well the Plastikote chrome/gold/copper paint we get here is sort of 50% between steel and real mirror finish chrome.. Problem is its rubs off easily and all the clear laquers I have tried just turn it into a dull aluminium effect
Sorry for the vaugeness..... I cant remember if it was in this forum or a different one... (good start eh?) But some one had v shiny sticky back plastic that they were using to make chrome look a like drive bays.. I'll have to see if i can dig up the post.
