I've just ordered a couple of these fans.

I like these Xigmatek fans a lot too, but they're twice the price they were when I bought them. :( Noctua are well thought of also.

On the cheaper end... Akasa are usually fairly decent. They're a bit louder than they say, though... I don't know what these Arctic Cooling fans are like as I've never used them.

Only thing I would say is avoid the Zalman ZM-F3 fans at all costs; they're loud. Honestly, I think Zalman were in cloud cookoo land when they came up with those specs.

Noctuas and Scythe S-Flexes are the best in my opinion. Try and get ones with a good balance between CFM and dB - I try and look for ones with a CFM rating close to or above 50, and a dB rating of around 20 or lower (Noctuas are great for this).

On a similar note (small hijack here) Any good Red LED fans? 120mm Quiet, going in an Antec 300 so airflow isn't a required high, just got to be good. Need to be cheapish too as I need 4.

I'd be quite happy with the price of Noctua fans if I only needed one or two... but £15-17 a fan when I need six of 'em gets pricey right sharpish. ;)

Yeah, but it's 60dB. You might as well get a jet engine :eeek:

EDIT: Ninja'd - that was aimed at the Delta fan.

He did say noise wasn't an issue...I think 60dB probably would be though :p

for a cheapish fan you're not going to get much better than a yate-loon or an s-flex. the noctuas are excellent, but at 6x the price not really worth it. that kaze you posted looks pretty good too.

I saw a silverstone on Scan but at 107CFM-42.2db it doesn't live up to the kaze, 110-37 and it's cheaper.

    I'm looking around 100CFM for under £10 :)

First, unless you've got independent results with respect to the CFM/dB of a fan, I'd take the manufacturers values as a round estimate. 3CFM is really margin of error difference at that sort of number (it's certainly not statistically significant).

Unfortunately, I don't think I've ever seen a 100CFM fan for less than a tenner...
