I have had a Be Quiet dark power pro 1000w for just over a year and it has stopped working.

It had 3years warranty and Scan have agreed to rma it (give me a replacement), but the dark power pro has changed and the new model is on pre order.

If you had around £160ish to spend today on a 1000w (could possibly drop to 800w) modular psu at scan what would you choose?

I was thinking about the corsair hx1000, but wondered if there was a better choice?

    Thanks

With that budget, I'd look at either of these:

    http://www.scan.co.uk/products/850w-corsair-pro-gold-ax850-modular-80-plus-gold-90-eff-sli-crossfire-eps-12v-120mm-fan

    http://www.scan.co.uk/products/800w-enermax-modu-87plus-modular-80-plus-gold-93-eff-sli-crossfire-eps-12v-139mm-fan

For what it's worth, my head would say the Corsair. But my heart would say the Enermax. Up to you. They're both leagues ahead of either what you had previously, or a HX1000.

Don't scrimp if you've got £160 to spend.

If you like the quietness of the Be Quiet don't get a Corsair HX850. I replaced my Be Quiet 650W as I needed one with additional PCIE connectors. What a difference in noise levels.
