Ill get right to the point. My PSU is now the loudest part of my setup. Its a Q-Tec Dual fan model, but it sounds like a flippin tornado compared to the rest of my setup. Would it be feasible to replace the 2 80mm fans with one quiet 120mm fan, via a modded PSU cover, or would this cause no end of problems?? Cash is too tight at the mo to buy a new PSU so this is my best bet. Anyone got any advice? Cheers.
cool - im actually gonna mount it on the outside of the PSU housing - theres barely enuff room inside plus itll maximise airflow i think. excellent - anyone else got any pointers i might need to know?
probably want to run it with negative pressure (it sux hot air through psu) and if your cautious about the caps you might want to finger test the big heatsink on the mosfets, make sure the thing isn't burning up
I think it would be really cool to see you make a totally new case for your power supply out of MODDERS MESH with that single 120mm fan inside it not only would it look great but it would good at cooling the PSU. Just a thought.
hmmmm... ^^^ That is a very interesting thought. That'd actually be kinda cool to see. However, the mounting means to the case would have to be re-rigged somehow..
hehe keewwl idea guys, but as i said b4, im on a tight budget, plus that modders mesh stuff is expensive for what it is.... maybe another time tho.... I could prolly manage some LED goodness, hows about that?
I usually pick up my modders mesh from the local hardware stores as theres no shipping and its cheaper. Plus they have many differen't mesh styles
