I recently purchased a quad-LED flashlight (http://www.allelectronics.com/cgi-bin/category.cgi?category=search&item=FL-4&type=store) off allelectronics.com, and I want to change the LEDs. Right now, it is a whitish-blueish color, but I have 4 super-ultra bright red LEDs that I would like to stick in there. I can not figure out how to change them......any suggestions? Thanks in advance!
Don't change the white LEDs. Many LED flashlights are designed so it's not possible (or at least very difficult) to get to the LEDs without destroying the light. Also, red LEDs have a lower Vf than white LEDs, making it even more complex. Instead, buy a 2 cell light that takes a standard flashlight bulb. You will find that if you use pliers to squeeze the base of the bulb gently, the glass bulb will separate from the metal base. Then put your 4 red LEDs where the bulb used to go (don't forget the resistors!).
