    Hi chaps,

My uncles got this weird problem with his pc. He needs to boot into safe mode to do some virus scanning etc. His issue is that his screen is not able to run the resolution that safe mode is currently set to (I'm guessing he had it serviced and someone cranked the resolution) so he's a bit stuck . Does anyone know how to reset the resolution? I've tried getting him to use the "enable VGA mode" option in the F8 boot menu but that hasn't worked - I'm a bit out of ideas.

    Cheers :thumb:

Sorry, what I meant was, when he tried the enable VGA mode it just booted regular windows at 640x480 (which works fine), not safe mode at 640x480. Am I doing something wrong?

actaully thinking about it as its been a while since i usedan XP maachine safe mode may boot in 800x600

it would be unlikely that the monitor didint support this res unless it was some obscure TV maybe.
