Saw your mod in the articles and was wondering if I will need a resistor for the main "on" light of a GW 802 with a 5mm hi bright blue LED from maplins? I'm still waiting for them to arrive (it got sent to parents instead and they still havent sent it, grrr) so this may have saved me some hassel :). Also the all knowledgable blue one :) will a 470ohm resistor be ok for putting on a 12v circuit? Sorry for the questions but my knowledge on such issues is lacking somewhat.....Cheers :D

you only need resistors when attaching them to 12v or similar ... the motherboard headers are already the right voltage for those super/ultra bright 5mm led's

    of topic but ...

there are two ppl here from oxford ... (or currently in oxford) out of not very many!! kewl huh!

Tis the centre of the universe m8!!!!!!
Since the post Ive done my keyboard LEDs and a couple of others, nice :). Currently waiting for fans to arrive so I can measure up and send to CCM, its all getting a bit exciting!!! Unfortunately though I've had to downscale things a bit due to the cost of 12v invertors :(, decided instead to invest in an AXIA and an ultra so its not all bad. :):)

Photos to come when its done.........

Wouldnt worry m8, as soon as I get some pictures of mine (M$ natural pro :)) I'm going to start pimping them out as well, should hopefully have some nice EL string in there too soon, or at least when CCM get some 5v invertors so I can run it off the USB power.......Was going to put some EL round the blowholes and do the ufo mod as well but that comes to nearly £100, just on the string.......better spent on H/W IMHO............:)

yeah .... its annoying when you have all these great mod ideas but no money to do it ... thats why KNA won the mod gallery ... very cheap and very cool

If your serious then give us a while as I'm now waiting for a TE to arrive b4 fitting the AXIA so as not to have to clear any AS off, as soon as its up and running I'll post again but I'll keep you in mind when the time comes.....:)

Currently waiting to do this to my pro (still) as CCM are having difficulties getting the 5v invertors I think..........try http://www.coolcasemods.com/string.htm
for a pic. Basically theres two ways of going about it as far as I'm aware. Firstly you can connect the positive to either the yellow 5v wire of the main keyboard cable or directly to one of the USB "bits" where they come down the front but I dont know which one!!! In either case the earth can be connected to ground wire on the back of the keypad bits. For more help (which is a bit more specific :)) head over to #coolcasemods on irc when bill or don are they and they should set you straight or post on the forum as theyve actually done this..:)
    Good taste in mods m8........:D

Got some more pics someplace..........I'll stick up when I find them........:)

Apparantly CCM are not getting the 5v inverters anymore as they are unsure that the usb bus can power it so they are sticking with a 12v one inside the case :(

Nasty bout the board string but I'll live without for a while till I've finished my case at least....:(

Finally got all the ingredients to do my case, expect it will be done in the next week or so (if all goes according to plan, keep your fingers crossed for me lads!!!), pics will (hopefully) be taken......

Cyberjosh, dont know how much they are these days but how does £50 inc. P&P sound? Its an 800 guaranteed to a gig bought from OcUK for £70 in february so hasnt seen much wear, I've had it up to 1050 but that was a bit sketchy, was perfectly stable running at 1020 for hours on end (encoding divx's and stuff).
