how does'nt this blow up?, i have been wanting to do this for ages but fear of blowing it up has stopped me

 

How would it blow up?! As long as the wood isn't electrically conductive there's not much danger, and even then he's probably using the motherboard standoffs on the back of the board.

Why would it blow up? It's just regular PC components sitting on a table rather than in a case.

Edit/ As Alex said the mobo is sitting on the foam that came inside the mobo box.

Yeah wood isn't conductive even then just use a old mobo tray if your that concerned.

I finished my custom desk this morning and thought I should add it to this thread

In the corner is where my server lives, as you can see it's messy!



My network stuff is all underneath the chest thingy where the laser printer is

Tisn't much, but it's my little world. And my TFT looks like it's tilted..cause it is. I realised that after I took the pic. Guess I just have a tilted head

 

I go to school at UT Arlington, Arlington, TX. The dorm is relatively small, but I make do with the space. Thankfully, I share this room setup with only 2 other guys, and they're my friends, so I don't go crazy. We have 3 bedrooms and a living room, but I'll just post my bedroom

Here's the bed, my rear wall-mounted speakers (pushpins!) and 1 of 2 Green Day posters. That yellowish/green one is signed by the band from the "The Kids are Allright" tour. It's now 10ish years old or so


Now, to get an idea of how small the room is, here's what you see when you walk in the room


And I know this is overkill but bear with me. These shelves are like 30cm deep, so I never really knew what to put here. So, its junk. All of it. All, that is, except for the 150+ of my movie collection in those slim jewel cases

Nice setup there Gordy. But, you really do fall under the geek joke domain with the: You know you're a geek when you have framed pictures of computers on the wall in your computer room.

I've been taking much better shots with some practice with my new digi cam, I've been using the flash all the time up till now to get anything in focus hehe.











I need to get a tripod really but these are much better than before
