Hello all, and a pre-thank you to those who may help me.

I've got a port routing dilemma, that has put me into a stand still. I have 3 pc's running on a home network, and up until yesterday my TeamSpeak server and FTP server (running on two seperate machines) were accessible by the internet and amongst eachother. Now, the only difference between when they were functioning properly and when they weren't was when a buddy of mine hopped on the network with a new pc. Now, I've tried checking which IP's were set to each PC, and noticed they changed, so I adjusted the Ports that were Forwarded, accordingly. But, I found that to no avail. So, I removed all of the pc's from the network, restarted the modem/router, set it to defaults, then re-input all of the cooresponding ports to be forwarded, but got nothing out of it. I am in desperate need of help on this matter, as I use my TeamSpeak server frequently, and I can't have this kind of dilemma.

All of the PC's on the network are using Windows XP SP2, and are all connected to a WRT54G Linksys router, via hardline, not the wireless.

My first step would be to narrow down the problem. Is the teamspeak/ftp working a-ok internally?

If so, run a port scan on your external IP see what responds.

Try setting the ips manually and then try the port forwarding. DHCP can be fun when forwarding...

I appreciate both comments, but I digress. I'm not sure how to do either thing mentioned. Is it in the Router Admin details page? Or, should I do it some other way?

To answer the questions asked, I haven't been able to log into either FTP or TeamSpeak via another pc in my network. Of course, that's trying to log in via my outside IP.

Is your router automatically giving your PCs thier network configs?

what haddy means is to sit down at each PC and manually give it a config. But try to figure out exactly when everything stopped working and work from there, obviously the config on your gear changed when your friends PC was attatched.

More detail on your network gear and the exact settings on each PC you are trying to use would help.

I just performed a test on all of the ports using www.whatsmyip.org. All of them show timeout/block. Is there something wrong with the router? Or, should that be considered an ISP problem?

Run this over your external IP using the port range function.

If the ports are not responding, it’s not an ISP issue; it’s your forwarding/router.

His ISP could have blocked the ports cause most ISPs don't allow their customers to run any server of any type.

i would of thought not tbh, i run ts /vnc/web/ftp/games over the net no problem an im with Tiscali , which if you where in the UK you know that it is possably one of the worst ISP's

+ the fact he used to run it ok till a few days ago suggests a internal error.

My ISPs servers block a port if too much traffic is made over a certain period of time so every so often I have to change Bittorrent ports cause my ISP has blocked the port I was using.

Are the IPs of your servers static? If not, maybe they are getting different IPs from the DHCP server, thus confusing your port forwarding settings...?

Should I test it with another router? Could it be product failure?

If you got another one lying about there’s no harm in trying.

Ok, swapped routers, even tried directly connecting to the modem.... nothing. I think there's something wrong with my host. But, anything that could be mentioned about my problems would be greatly appreciated. Thanks all who've helped so far.

Update!: After a long talk with my ISP, I've now got a new IP address that is functioning properly! :D
