Is there a difference between SATA 1 cable and sata 2 cable transfer speed. or is it just the same speed up to sata 2 .As i use sata 2 HDD would this help my pc by replacing the old sata cables for sata 2 and do sata cables break down and start dropping conection speed after a few years
I don't think there is a difference between sata 1 and 2 cables but even if there is a hdd probably won't saturate a sata1 link except for maybe the cache on it which is probably 8-16mb. As to them breaking down, I don't think they're very likely to in a few years. They are also more likely to just stop working rather than slow down.
