Hi, Just finished making my extremely cool LCD/rheobus drivebay insert out of clear Acrylic, pulled off the protective paper, rised it in soapy water THEN noticed a 1" long scratch across the front of where the LCD will be. My question is... HOW the **** do I polish out this scratch so no-one will know it's been repaired? Brasso is too abrasive to do the finish I'm after! Would Jeweller's Rouge work at all? I've had a look through the forum to see if I could find anything similar - no luck tho Any help much appreciated!
I don't know if you can source this stuff in the UK, but Novus#3 followed by Novus #2 should do it. If you can't get it, try removing the scratch with 2000 grit wet/dry sandpaper (use it wet!) and polishing out the haze with brasso or rubbing compound.
Thanks Linear M8 - I think I can probably get something similar from a plastic supplier in the u.K.? If not I could always get my relatives in Cape Cod MA to look for some Novus for me - they did offer to get things for me if they weren't available in the uk last time I saw them, come to think of it
okey how many novuses are out there? NOVUS - polishing solution NOVUS - iNoovation for USers - FIC product that gives voice errors instead of beep codes in bootup any others???
the company that issues Discover cards (credit card) The Australian petroleum co. Kayak maker in Washington state Norwegian publishing house Handspring accessory manufacturer German tool maker I'm sure there's a bunch more (Hint: Google)
Just found a UK site selling the novus range - Possibly the most random shop you can think of for stocking it tho- a PINBALL supplies store Gonna get all 3 - I've got loads of scratched things to polish now I know what this stuff can be used on (plexi, walls, floor, dog )
