Hello! Does anyone have any idea how i can mount this tiny circuit board onto a plastic cap in basically a T Shape? It’s going to have to be sturdy to because it does take a little bit of effort putting the cable in. The Charging port will be going straight though the cap so <---- that way all the room around the module chip is dead space so it can all be used for supports Idea Circuit Board
If I understand your requirements then you could put some small bolts through the lead holes to bolt it to the cap. Then secure your leads between two nuts. Add some solder for a good contact.
Interesting, thanks for the suggestion i just realised the micro usb port only gives me about 2mm of travel so i’ll have to drill out plastic from the cap, make sure its snug, then i can secure using your technique by making two little holes which go from the roof to the bottom of the cap though the module board holes which is held in by little bolts or pins, damn this is close to watchmakers territory
Dr. Coin suggestion witll be most durable. You can also try hot glue, if you dont want to drill holes..
Are you sure hot glue would hold? and just hot glue from a glue gun or a specific type? I remember watching a bigclive tear down video on youtube, and he toke something apart and on the circuit board it had this yellow strong gunky material not allowing him to inspect the board, i'm trying to find the video to find out what the heck it was anyone know?
100% would hold. It's strong stuff. hot glue from a glue gun would work. I'd be more worried about not being able to get it off again.
PC case stand off pins screwed into the cap and then screw the board on to the stand offs? Hot glue would work but as you mentioned it's whether you wanted to remove later, I use hot glue when I know I never want to remove something
@Evolutionsic - Sorry for being late to the party, but the yellow gunky stuff is contact cement. LOVE that stuff.
Thanks for clearing that up , in the end i just printed extra plastic behind the board holding the module board in place, hindsight eh
