Hello, Maybe this is common knowledge and I've just never heard of it... I built up a new PC yesterday using an Abit IP-35, Dark Raider mobo and a brand new WD Harddrive. Upon building the PC, I switched it on, without a DVD in Drive, just to check it was built up properly. After seeing this I got up to make a cup of tea, expecting to return to the no disk found message. However when I got back it was in the process of starting/installing Windows Server 2003... still quite hungover, I thought it a bit odd, wondered if it was a mobo feature, restarted it, with boot DVD in, went to create a partition and found that one had already been made for the full amount of disk space. So I'm wondering now that the hangover has cured, why is that?
It sounds like that "brand new" hard drive isn't so new after all... Where did you get the drive from? Andy
Thats what I was fearing.... I've sent the company in question an email asking them to explain why this had happened, I'll let you know the outcome
