OK my current board is an asus A8V deluxe, I'm looking to upgrade the board and graphics card to PCI express and I need some recommendations on which board to go for. Basically what i'm after is something along the lines of: Socket 939 nForce 4 (Ultra?) S-ata (2 isn't needed but it might be nice in the future) Onboard sound that will operate with another sound card installed Possibly SLI as an upgrade path Cheers for any help you lot can provide, Rich P.S. I'm gonna post in the 'Video Cards' board aswell so any help there would be appreciated, thanks again.
If you can budget it in, the Asus A8N-SLI Premium is a superb board, even if you don't intend to use SLI.
Only thing I have against getting another asus board is that whenever I plug my audigy in, it disables onboard sound. I like onboard sound for my headset and use the audigy for my speakers. I don't know if this is a common 'feature' of all asus K8 boards though, can anyone enlighten me?
that's odd... I have audigy2 zs platinum pro and asus A8N-SLI Deluxe and onboard sound works fine at the side...
A8N32 if you can get hold of one, most 'future proof' board now or wait for AM2 socket. Been waiting for months now in Netherlands to grab one
Sorry my point was I like to run both cards simultaneously (I use 'Teamspeak' and don't want my mates on speakers while I listen to music) Suppose that answers my question as to whether or not it's a "common feature" or not I'm sort of on the fence right now as to whether or not to get an Asus or Abit board...hmmm....this will require further pondering
I just finished putting together my new PC with the Abit AN8 Ultra I like it alot so far. Only complaint is the placement of the USB/IEEE headers, WAY to close to where the vid card is, but im only using one of them so its no biggy... Sorry, I cant read, missed the SLi part....
