List of links, web sites, shops, stores

Ok guys, I had a look at http://forums.bit-tech.net/showthread.php?t=36692&page=1&pp=20, (thanks for that)

What I have done is copy and paste many links as I could find from that thread. And just tried to tidy it up a little bit. (yes, I know I have not done a good job, buts it better then before) Most it was already done, by the user “linear”. The old thread was started in 2003, it know 2005 (for those who didn’t know) So any updates would be useful.

NOTE: I have not tried ever site, and some may not work, or are not the best of sites. Please read around the internet. This is just a list to help people, like me, who do not know many links, and can read up, and explorer. Some sites may be listed under the different headings.

    Hope this helps people.

Thanks to everybody who contributed, please add more. :D

What would be more handy (IMNSFHO) is a list of local shops for local people, that may or may not have an on-line store. Most towns have somewhere other than PC-World, Dixons and Staples where you can pick up bits at a reasonable price, but they're often tucked away in the back streets. Or the on-line places may have a showroom/warehouse shop where you can hand over the ready for instant gratification. Would help people new to an area (like maybe students) find worthy suppliers.

Example: S Yorks (Doncaster) : Discount Computer Supplies, 58 Copley Road, Tel: 01302 364155. Download price list, site shows stock levels.

A way I like (as used in some other Useful Links, eg Electronics :cooldude: ) is to use the top post in the thread as a menu with quick-jump links to posts further down the thread, so all UK in one post, all US in another, etc. Just a thought.
