Is it just me or have other people thought renting servers as personal heaters would be an awesome idea?

Too true. Auto fan settings FTL.
Though my brother uses the back of his fridge to keep warm, it's warmer than the back of a computer.

tell your brother to open the door, the fridge will then try to cool the whole room and the system ends up running really hard, which produces a load of heat! Also a good way to kill a fridge..

My flatmate claims his laptop keeps his room warm - though my room is bigger, so I have my 8800GT folding to keep it toasty.

Coretemp is actually the gauge by which I dedide how cold my room is. Normally it idles around 35C, but when I came back to the flat today, having been empty and cold over christmas, I was idling at just 22C. Cold!

I knew it, that is why my old computer was so slow and I was so angry

Wow, now thats very intresting, I will end up shouting at my sisters computer not mine now. Seriously though, thats why I need water cooling.

    Heh, awesome.

I'd want ear protection working in a datacentre that loud for extended periods though.
