Where are you living in, a freezer ? CPU idling at 17C means you must have 15-16C in that room at most.
This is my in progress Asus build. It's a Rampage IV Black Edition with 3x290X's (Asus of course). I've just finished the 'plumbing' now. The black tubing is for the CPU and the white tubing is for the GPU's. I should get some black 'stoppers' tomorrow to replace the silver ones in the graphics cards and in the top of the CPU reservoir. I'll be running it for a week or so on clear fluid to get rid of any particulates and red fluid still in the system from my previous build. I will then drain it down and put black fluid in the CPU loop and white fluid in the GPU loop. I've also bought a white top and stopper for the GPU reservoir. So glad it's almost done, I don't really enjoy working with rigid tubing.
Thats shaping up to be a monster rig buddy! how have you found using rigid tubing? bending and such? triple 290x's! they are gonna scream! nice work. J.
To be honest, it's been damn hard work. I think about a third of the tubing I bought is in the bin! I was determined to make every bend rather than use extra fittings which made it slightly tougher. I wish Monsoon would sell the angle bending tools they have created separatley, as I already have all of the other tools in their rigid tubing kits. I had to do the bends by eye, hence they are not consistant and a bit untidy. It's all a learning curve and I will get better at it over time - and get my hands on some angle bending kit. My biggest issue was getting the bend exactly where I wanted it; I knew where I wanted it, but getting it to go there didn't always occur as intended. It doesnt help that the tubing is far too long to get in the case before you start the bending. It took a lot of measuring and plenty of educated guesses. I am far from 100% happy with it, but it'll do - that and I have also run out of spare tubing Now I just have to leak test it and fit the cables. I'm sure it will be worth it in the end.
Saturday night special ended up with a Gene V .. Yes it is buried in there beneath that mountain of clobber . Well it was till recently. the rig has now been totally dismantled ( dismembered) v
It may get recycled at some point. But there is another build in the planning stage at the mo.. So things will be getting chopped up again quite soon.
The fevers never dead! Jeff, got to say - blimey, all I can see is piping, fans and LEDs, you buried your hardware good man! Look forward to the new project.
still milking my ASUS P5Q Pro e8500 3.16 Ghz 8GB ram Radeon HD 6870 what I wouldnt give for a Rampage IV or a Sabertooth to base a new system on... sigh...
My ASUS rig... ... ... Isn't it awesome ...Only asus but in my pc is the mobo [P6T Deluxe V2], which is currently about as much use as a chocolate fireplace...
The on-board sound works only when it feels like it, one of the network ports doesn't work properly [luckily there's 2 and the other one's fine], the bulk of the sata ports are covered/rendered inaccessible by my gpu... oh and a serious case of bios senility... resulting in [but not limited to] it'll only boot off usb ~50% of the time... it refusing to boot with a 'over-clocking failed' message [at stock speed] it randomly forgetting/messing up the boot order it forgetting about/losing half the installed ram don't get me wrong, it's served me well... but it's been properly used and abused since new and now it's starting to show it's age...
