haha, mr biggs m8, i think ur missing the point of this thread If it was what HT sruff we wanted the thread would never die! personally my ultimate HT system would be a meridian based 7.1 system powered by monoblocs, (that would be sweet as hell). But it aint really relevant to what i can aford sadly
Is this sad? 25" Zenith TV DishNetwork sattelite receiver Samsung DVD Samsung VHS deck set of Cambridge 2.1 computer speakers :/ I am in the process of building a video-editing and post-production studio... Does that count?
aaahh.. teh winner: MA B2 + NAD 521BEE + Rotel RA-02 best combo.. like what hifi suggested other amp/cdp tested: nad 320bee, rotel rcd-02, marantz cd-5400, marantz pm-7200, arcam a75+
Thats why I did post what I have, and in case you missed it, A 20" flat screen CRT TV. A 5.1 Toshiba home theater system 450w Its not by any means bad, the picture quality is great for a $125 TV, better than the $250 27" that was given to us. The sound is pretty crisp for movies, but Not for regular stero and such. The TV in that picture is probably the only thing Im "dreaming" of. Everything else I will aquire in time. definitely gonna purchase the Receiver and DVD player eventually, say next 3-6mos.
what did you think of the PM7200? I've got one of these wired up to a pair of B&W 602-S2. Absolutely superb, crystal clear while still ear bleeding volume with insane treble and clear middle even with thudding bass... so much so I nearly smashed a vase in the living room by vibrating it off the shelf... at the other end of the house!
I find this a rather strange conclusion to come to, considering you also tested the Rotel RCD-02: The RCD-02 costs almost twice as much as the NAD player and comes from the same range as the RA-01/02, and has in all likelihood been designed to complement the matching amp. Now while neither of these actually guarantee that they will sound best together, in this case I feel it does. My setup consists of the RA-01, an RCD-02 and a pair of B&W 600S3s and my only slight criticisms concern the relatively small B&Ws (to be replaced by the 602S3s in about two weeks). As far as I'm concerned the amp and CD player work beautifully together, but I suppose the monitor audio speakers could change that. Incidentally, I think the only reason that what hi-fi partnered the Rotel amp with the NAD CD player is to keep the price of the setup within a reasonable budget. Just my opinion of course, music is a very subjective thing after all.
Well, here's mine Denon 1803 receiver, Toshiba 330 DVD Player, and KEF 2005.2 Sub www.philspcmods.com/images/cinema/equipshelfafter.jpg Seating end of the room with the surrond KEF 2005.2 Eggs on the wall. The projector in this shot is one I borrowed from work. The desk isn't that clean now, as it has a couple of PCs and monitors on it. www.philspcmods.com/images/cinema/seatingafter.jpg And finally a shot The Matrix Reloaded being projected from my Sanyo Z2 which arrived today The image is about 5'6" wide. www.philspcmods.com/images/cinema/reloaded.jpg I need to ceiling mount the Z2, but I'll get around to that in the not too distant future.
