I use my shuttle (SN41G2B......i think, black one with NForce2 chipset :p) for gaming and LANing. Barton 2500+, 1 Gb of RAM, 80Gb WD 8mb SE HDD, and a R9600Pro. That handles every game I have (including UT2003, Unreal 2, NFS:U, Quake, H&D, CS). It sits under a desk, above another computer, in a corner, and still keeps temps. low enough for me to be comfortable. (ie. in the mid 40's at load).

I would recommend getting the revised (silent) PSU though.

So the SN41G2 will be fine for my needs then becuase this is the one iam thinking of getting, i was thinking of using my Radeon 9600 se graphics card once i get the shuttle up and running then i will make some changes e.g change the fans for quiet ones and change the psu also does this have a serial port on it for me to hook a lcd up to or is their any usb sockets on the back? I am looking forward to getting my shuttle now after your guys giving me the advice i needed to make the decision thanks  i will be having it or modding it in the near future hopefully ready for my towns lan party. if anyone one else has anything else to comment to the SN41G2 on how i can make it as quiet as possible or anything else i can do to it to make it looks as sexy as possbile or maybe comment on the hardware iam going to use please feel free i will enjoy reading all your thoughts as this shuttle seems the one for me :thumb:

    Cheers

    including:
    my sn41g2,
    [twig]clown's sn41g2b,
    Jack's sn45g,
    and zaps new project

If your using your old videocard then for AMD the SN45 is Good (basically a SN41 but without the onboard GF4-mx440 and Nforce2-ultra chipset instead)

If you like Intel then the Special edition is good value - bag/wireless nic/dvd-rom

Or you could push the boat out with a SN85 with an AMD64 processor - then d/l Windows XP 64 bit and have a play...

I have read the reviews you gave me i just couldnt remember if they had serial ports and i have now lost the link to them reviews :wallbash:

Phase thanks for all them links you seem to know your stuff about these barebones :hip: that is good for me i am still going to go for the SN41G2 as this has go all the features i need and propbrebly more, even tho it has on board graphics these might come in handy in the future and the extra money would prob be worth it

Where do you all think is the best place to get my Shuttle From?

Cheers for all the feedback and help

i got mine from ebuyer. But whether youre happy using them is another matter......

Otherwise, KustomPCs are always very helpful.

    have fun!

I prefer my stuff to arrive next day rather than next week..

Kustompcs are good, a little more expensive than tekheads when I bought mine tho.

Got mine from overclockers.co.uk, there prices vary, on somethings they are competitive, on others they are expensive, but there service is great, gets here quick too.

Any 80mm 20db or less fan will be fine.

For the PSU its gotta be 40mm and the NB I'd make passive.
