The shim should help to stop the core from being crushed.

It mentions all of this in the instructions, you really should read them!

Thats what I was thinking. Dont even think I looked at the manual once, well, not about cpu or ICE system installation. On a side note, i use the ICE system, seems great.

Just one thing to confirm, I ordered some Arctic Silver 5 with my other various computer components. Is it best to use this AS 5 with the ICE System and my 64 3200+ 1MB?

Doesn't really make much difference what thermal compound you use... AS5 will be fine though.

    My Shuttle

    I've got an SN41GV2 - nforce2 - with
    2800+XP
    1Gb 333MHz ram
    40 Gb HD
    DVD-DL/RW
Hauppauge 350PVR (this one does the viewing - I've got an 1800+XP with 160Gb space elsewhere which does the recording)
On-board graphics and sound (good enough for SimCity4 and media player!)

I can recommend a shuttle for either a main or second system - ask someone about heat and Intel P4 chips - you may want to consider an athlon system, AFAIK they are cooler and therefore quieter.
