saw this last night.. it's probably the worst movie I've seen this year imo- save your money.. the ending it's like they ran out of budget and the story the only cool scene was of course cg with a stealth fighter looping through all the alien defenses and getting a nuke missle off.. all out of control from there
This had a great teaser trailer a few months back, with the people getting hoovered up into the spacecraft, but everything Ive heard since then is showering **** all over its parade. I probably wont bother going to see it.
So, it really is like Crysis. Flashy graphics but lacking story, Trailer made it look awesome. Wait till its on DVD now then.
One bit of the trailer actually had one of the flying aliens from Crysis i swear. My mates theory is they tried to make it look like everything from Crysis to Halo so that us gamers would go "ooooh it looks like [insert game here]" and go and pay a tenner to see the dross.
I don't think its a case of running out of budget, more that they had very little in the first place. Basically the two guys responsible funded this film themselves and since they are effects guys from various other sci-fi films I'm not surprised that the directing, acting and story are the weak parts of this film. However its not too bad and I've seen films with twice the budget and then some that were worse than this so they can have a pass mark for effort and intention and a thumbs up for at least giving it a go.

That does look a bit better but pretty much more of the same. Unfortunately it looks like it stars Michelle Rodriguez...
The aliens in all these films strike me as very considerate - always invading Los Angeles to keep production costs down
