As posted here: http://www.rockpapershotgun.com/2011/10/25/sky-high-or-below-the-rim-skyrim-specs/ Not reading into anything, but there've been a lot of people on here recently saying they need to upgrade already fairly respectable rigs due to Skyrims impending release. WELL... turns out ya probably don't have to!
Hrm, I'm a little low on the CPU end, but dramatically faster on the GPU end. I hope it balances out. Skyrim should be awesome. :3
Looking at those specs, its amazing that 4 years after it launched, the 8800 GT can still play pretty much anything out there.
man im loving it except ive got NO GOD DAMM TIME Heroes might and magic VI, BF3, Xenoblade !, Monster hunter tri and soon torchlight 2, skrim then Diablo 3 early next year !!!!!
Damn, been trying to convince my girlfriend we need to but a new graphics card to run it with the pretty turned up. Hope she doesn't see these.
Dx9 .. ... Nuuuuuuuuuuuuuoo, atleast give us an Dx11 texture pack for PC gamers.. Or a new generation consoles so the console to pc ported games can be better :/
I suspect that the "Creation Engine" is going to be DX10 capable, at least. Minimum spec is just "It will start. It will do DX9. It will play-ish" I swear there were rumours going about that it would be DX11, however.
Ok I hope that is true, I don't think that xbox360 supports dx11 so that would have to be an fix for the PC version, I hope they make that effort.
i was going to pre-order this game till i seen its DX9 only xbox port.. shame... wait till it drops in price a little i think for me.
Considering the xbox could barely run Oblivion and this game still has to cater to that system.... yeah i wasn't expecting huge requirements.
Haaa Haaa Haa ha! It's a Bethesda game! It's going to be a bug ridden mess and the specs are so low because its based on the same crappy engine the fallout games were made with. I'm sure game play will be great but I reckon it will be a few months before its playable.
I am a little disappointed by this - I know that graphics don't make a game (indeed I usually argue that it is the art style rather than the graphics that make it) but for something with magic, dragons and vast landscapes it would be nice if they took advantage of what a mid-high end PC can do nowadays - a 560Ti rather than Xfired 6990s +1. I intend to get this at Christmas time, once the first Community Patch has been released to fix the bugs that Bethesda can't.
Not at full whack though! But the reason why you can still use an 8800 gt is because developers are focusing on consoles with 4+ year old gpus.
