    Hey guys,

ive seen some GFX cards on some sites that i quite like and i have no idea which one is better, i know this must be fairly annoying by now, seeing how many other peeps on this forum are always asking the same sort of questions, but i thought id jump on the bandwagon and ask also... and beside, i really dont want to waste £150.

    firstly theres

Saphire Radeon 9600 Pro Atlantis Ultimate Ed. 128mb
    then
Saphire Radeon 9800 SE Atlantis 128mb

theres about £2 difference but i was wondering if theres a big difference between the 9600 being a Pro and the 9800 not... :S#

anywayz... thanks all for your help

the 9800 will have the extra pipelines enabled i think, whereas the 9600pro does not, but is clocked higher, personally i would go for the 9800

    * waits for bindibadgi to correct me *

Many thanks Xen0phobiak, I was erring towards the 9800, and I think you may have pushed me over the edge. Tbh, anything would be better than the GEFORCE 2 MX 400 I'm using at the moment http://forums.bit-tech.net/images/icons/icon9.gif

    Anyway mucho thankage

It is very unlikely the ATI 9800 SE will have any more pipelines enabled than the 9600 Pro.

Also the SE is underclocked, some (not many) SE's have the better 256 bit memory contoller and correct configuration of RAM to ultilise it (layout of the board).

Why not get the Sapphire 9600 XT it is cheaper (£135 is a great deal) and much better then the ATI 9800 SE and the 9600 Pro.

It should be available very soon (next couple of weeks).
