News Sony buys Ghostbusters game from Atari

Sony has now bought the publishing rights for the Ghostbusters game from Atari, making the game a PlayStation exclusive.

 

Hopefully it will not end up a mix and mash of 3 companys ideas and failings!

Whats the news on a possible PC release? Xmas time?

 

I am glad, because it means one less game to buy.

 

unless is it a sony VIAO exclusive, you have the same chance as 360, Wii and DS users

 

According to the xbox community guys on twitter it's still coming to the 360 towards the end of the year.

 

That is absolutely disgusting! They must really be desperate to screw over the millions of Wii & 360 Ghostbusters fans just to shift a few more units of their awful over-priced console. Absolutely abhorrent.
I was really looking forward to playing a new Ghostbusters game too. I'm so disappointed.

I shall never buy a Sony product again.

 

.....and Halo ODST, Gears of War will be available on the PS3 by Christmas with the likes of Little Big Planet and God of War coming to the 360

This is the most surprising headline (that wasn't misleading) that I've seen in months. It's such a dick move haha. There were a lot of people looking forward to this game, I bet not even a quarter of them have PS3's. All that work on the other platforms wasted too.

I'm quite shocked Sony managed to pull this one, if they had a decent game with mass appeal coming to everything including the wii, wouldn't they earn more money? No option of self publishing?

 

What about the specific Wii Version!?!

 

All the dev videos ive seen have been raving about ps3 hardware ...ding?

These aren't just some guys on the forums, these are MS employees, Ghostbusters IS coming to the 360, what part of timed exclusive do you not understand?

there is not confirmation on whether it is a timed exclusive or not, atari isn't doing well in the credit cruch at the moment, so if sony has brought this timed exclusive then they are going against there ethos where they dont buy exclusives....

let just hope that atari will still be publishing the other versions, but that will now depend on the details of the agreement which i'm sure will come about later. I dont believe sony are stupid, I think the rights would have been pulled completely and all other versions canned.

 

I'm not overly interested tbh, I just wish GT5 would hurry up and be released.
