    hi i got these from work :D

    what i want to do is make a 10 bar spectrum analyser with anyone of these parts can anyone push me in the right direction???

    will be getting the sound from the speaker output of the sound card i have a Y cord thinggo

    NOTE:
    i have general electronic klnowledge can solder de-solder printed circute board is hard for me to get any other parts i can order money is no real object since i can grab stuff from work :rolleyes:

    A one band spectrum analyzer defeats the purpose. You'd be better off making something like a VU meter.

    There is a kit from a company called welleman that does exactly that... a 10 band LED spectrum analyser. It is discontinued, so you probably wount be able to find the kit anywhere.

    But... the schematics for the kit are floating around on the net. In fact, I think they were posted here quite recently.
    There's just one thing, the A/D used by welleman is not produced anymore, so you will have to find a suitable replacement A/D and probably modify the schematics somewhat to fit the new A/D.

    I've made a similar thing, a 23*7 general purpose LED display that among other things can work as a spectrum analyser. ("other things" include text scrolling, general graphics/animations etc.)

    Countrary to the welleman kit, my display is MCU-based, so the schematics will not do you much good.
