If whilst playing on the server you suspect a cheater, what do you do?

The first thing you dont do is spam haxs or haxor etc.
without any proof any shout for hax will be ignored.

So how do you get proof?

You need to submit a demo

How do you submit a demo?

The server is now protected by steambans.com This is not Valve or Steam it is an independant anti cheat plugin.
All demos submitted to admin must have sb_status.
Without sb_status all bans will only be on our server.
With sb_status the ban will be global.

The first thing you do is get yourself into a position where you can spectate the suspect.
This can be done in various ways.
    Spectate
    By typing kill in console
    suicide rush (rapid death)

Now you are removed from the game
    to record a demo
All you have to do is go to console type record "player name" then enter.

Do not move off the suspected player if he dies just continue recording a random player.
When you have a decent demo type "stop" in console, this will end any recording.
A decent demo is one where the suspect has more than 1 kill, and preferably more than 4 kills.
Remember to type sb_status in console at any time during the recording, this will show all connected players steam id.

Now you have a demo what do you do?

You can upload your demo to a file sharing site such as rapidshare.com this is free.
Then post that link on the forums so admin can see your demo.
Give admin time to review your demo, sometimes it may take a while to prove a hack.
Admin will only perm ban with proof.

    Usefull information.
    Date
    Time
    Map
    suspected hack.

Do not post steam ID on forum they will be removed, all demos will be watched by admin, and if admin agree there is sufficient evidence of cheating the player will be banned from the server.
The demo will then be submitted to steambans who will if they agree install a global ban.

    CPC is a Steambans Server.

Basically this means you can send demos directly to steambans and get a cheater banned across multiple servers.

Info on how to go about this is here: http://www.steambans.com/support.php?c=info&page=htrad

Guide to submitting bans is here: http://www.steambans.com/support.php?c=info&page=subban

Before any ban is submitted to steam bans you have to follow these simple steps.
    1. review the demo yourself, it is no good recording a suspected cheat, if you do not look at the demo yourself beforehand. Each admin at steambans has to review around 165 demos per month, most of which are not demos of haxors.
    2. all demos must have sb_status, without this no ban submission will be accepted.
    3. you must be patient, admin will look at all submitted demos, some cheats will take time to proccess.
    4. all admin at steambans are impartial, they will not ban any player without proof. Should you provide a demo that does not prove a hax this does not mean that your demo has been forgotten, it may mean that the player is put on a watchlist. It is important that you do not alert a player on a watch list for obvious reasons.
To sum up I would advise all players who record a demo to submit it to the custom pc server admin.
If your demo meets the required criteria it will be forwarded to steambans.
Finally enjoy your games, haxors only make up a small percentage of players, and they always lose everytime.

Any demo longer than 5 minutes will need to be split.
