Theres more pics on my forums... But heres some of the pics now... The case has been stripped, the cutting has begun, The PC needs a home, stage 1 ETC (Estimated Time of Completion) is Aug. 1...Stage 1 includes... Fitting the new PSU and MOBO, as well as building the top extention of the case... There is much more cutting to be done this week... Visit forums.xoomsmods.com for the latest details! (New details every 2 days or so). Will post updates here weekly...
Any Mods??? Doesnt a Project Log need to have something Modded???? I think ur gonna have a hard time converting that to atx. Nothing a cant fix.
I am doing something similar with my mod. I was lucky though, someone had already converted it most of the way to atx
That case SCREAMS watercooling. Just imagine a killer top window looking down onto a Res where the floppy is...
heres some of the first cuts... They were done last week, i just had to get them up and edited... The top is in progress for a radiator that will be purchased in the nearer future (i hope) along with the rest of the water cooling kit... the biggest surprise yet is how the PC is going to be turned on...Something you have never seen before, im pretty sure. And this case mod is going to be REALLY easy... im not too worried about it. A dremel will more than fix it. Now to find a second case to mutalate for extra parts...and one thats CHEAP!
I cut the place for the PSU in the case today, and i bought some files to clean those edges up nice! Found another case at a computer store for a steal, and its going under the knife tommorow evening, maybe morning. Im taking the I/O panel out so i can replace the AT I/O panel with an ATX I/O panel. I will post pics soon... Anyways, it is coming right along.
Most of the Chassis is done, heres the current look of the case.... Theres Still LOTS to do! More pics here! Now its time to start preping for paint, the bezel has much that needs to be done as well as the top. The bezel needs some fill work, and the top is gaining about 5 inches of acrylic, maybe more.
ontop of it you could mount a rather large heatcore and some fans opn that if you eliminate the floppy ontop.
I actually think i am all set for water cooling, for the core on the top, and best of all i can still use the floppy drive, although, now i just need the money to start buying the water cooling parts.
