i found this site, if anyone is doing or wants to do a star trek mod:
    http://www.lcarscom.net/all_panels.htm

its got panels that i guess you could back light and put on a case or maybe wire it so the buttons work.

i would love to actually do one of those mods with actual touch-sensitive switches behind it.
then i could maybe put on on my wall and control my lights, fans, and other bitties :hip:

except i wouldnt know where to start or how to do it, its one of those things where you need someone to type up a mod guide for :sigh:

Yeh thats is the best way, use a touchscreen LCD monitor, because the Lcars displays are supposed to be interactive. Whack something up in VB or something and place that in the startup folder

I think someone should just mod their whole house into an authentic Star Trek starship room :thumb: .

*edit - Did you look at the bottom ones? $200! :eeek:

There was some guy selling something like that on EBay. A Star Trek Bachelor pad or something like that. Here it is.

You could setup a touchscreen runing DesktopX, wall mount it and there you go. Or wall mount like a tablet PC.
