After recently moving and upgrading to Virgin Media's 100 MB/s package, I feel like a better router would benefit me greatly, so does anyone have some recommendations?

The only real requirement is 802.11ac.

Edit: Current router is the HomeHub 2 that comes standard from Virgin Media.

You cannot replace the virgin router as it's linked into the virgin network.

You've got two options, can change it to modem-mode and then use another cable-router (RJ45 WAN port) for DHCP and routing duties.

Buy an ac Wireless AP for wireless and use the virgin router for routing.

ps. HomeHub is BT, Virgin is SuperHub - copycat naming!

I have the older SuperHub in modem-mode linked to a Cisco/Linksys E4200 and it works great.

Just wired the Router WAN (Internet) port into SuperHub port 1, configured the router and everything works as expected.

I'm told the newer SuperHub is much better than the original so unless you have any problems with it I'd not bother buying a new router.
