    Hey all,

hope you had a good Christmas, and that you had nice pressies to play with,

I'm on the quest that so many of us are on, for Quietness.

Now my setup is already quiet, but I want silent.
Below is a full run down of what I have,

    but specifically,

how do I make my Gfx Card quiet?

I've a bog-standard GeforceDDR 32MB card and the fan on it is small & does it's job, but for a tiny fan it makes one hell of a noise.
Any suggestions on how I can make it quieter and not cook itself?

Apart from that it's just HSF's.
The do their job, but are a bit noisy for my liking.
They're 60mm Coolermaster jobbies with standard Alu heatsinks ATM. (1 with a fangrill which makes the tinyest amount more noise)

I also want to add a case fan, 80mm but I took the last one out due to noise.

This machine sits at the bottom of my bed, (the Activity & HD LED's blind me ATM, I smell a mod coming up there!)
and as such it needs to be SILENT! for when I'm encoding stuff at night!

many thanks in advance for reading my ramblings,
if you have suggestions on what to get/where to get it that would be great,
I'm based in Dublin so the more that's available in the one place the better. (I'd rather not spend huge money on shipping!!!)

Hope you all have a great New Year,

    Stephenc

For the grafix card try the silent cooler from http://www.quietpc.com which looks pretty good for lowering noise levels. Shame its pretty expensive (£25 + £5 p+p) but i guess it would be worth it if u need a silent pc (don't we all?)

Or downgrade to summat like a TNT2 with just a heatsink...
