I love it - the first party games are incredible and there are loads of ports of solid stuff. BotW proper mind-blowing stuff for me, revealing how much pointless and tedious cruft comes with more trad video games that I thought were part and parcel. The "switch"ing that the console does from TV to portable is miles more useful than I thought it would be when I saw it launched. Shame with the pandemic I've not had much cause to use it like that!
What party games? Do you mean the mario party games? I had it back on my NDS, but I never bought a Mario party game for the switch as i was indecisive about which one to buy!
"First party" meaning games made by Nintendo itself, as opposed to "third party" games made by external companies.
I occasionally play on the Switch, had it for about 7 months but haven't had as much time lately. Most of the time I play RPGs like Xenoblade Chronicles, Ni no Kuni or I play some kind of rogue-like game.
How are RPG games ? May be worthwhile watching youtube vids or do you suppose that would ruin the gaming experience ?
I really enjoy them, I enjoy the style of the Xenoblade series more... though the voice acting in Xenoblade Chronicles 2 will make anyone cringe. You can usually find gameplay videos that don't show any of the story elements, so should be fine to look them up without spoiling anything major. If you enjoy classic jRPGs like Final Fantasy, Legend of Dragoon or Breath of Fire then you'd probably enjoy Xenoblade/Ni no Kuni.
