yeah, lol, its called get a job!

I find it hard to believe that this happens in edmonton. I mean alberta is so hot right now. if I get fired I can go anywhere and get a job.
But there is also a major lack of intelligence in this province. Someone here in GP bought a tv, left it in his truck. went for supper at a restaurant. came out, and it was gone.
why not just leave the keys in the truck while he was at it?
(by the way, the tv was in the back of the truck. they didn't have to break in.)

They can make a citizens arrest just the same as any other person can, but it's not a step they can afford to take lightly, so unless they have CCTV images of you stuffing something into your pockets, they are stuck. Unless you agree to let them check your pockets - which obviously no self-respecting thief is going to let them do.

I can beat that one: try a 500lbs tool chest in the back of a truck that was stolen in the space of the owner running into a store to drop off some movies. It took three people to load it. Go figure.

And yes, this happens a lot in alberta. I've got a friend that is well connected on the not-so-legal side of things, and honestly, some of the stuff he can get for under $100 scares the pants off me ($50 for a psp anyone? cabling not included...).

Yes they can make a citizens arrest but consider what could happen if they do. Would be thief who doesn't want to goto jail gets angry and turns violent and attacks the employee. they could have a knife or even worse a gun and now you have a really bad incident. Over what? money? not worth it.
While I dont know it to be a fact I have to agree that stores should not let their employees do that. It's just too much risk for such a small gain.

It's the new AVG: Tory Edition. It has obviously decided that Bioshock is too violent and a harmful influence on your suggestible soul and proceeded to censor it by wiping it from your system. :D

I listened to the PC Gamer podcast yesterday and they had interviewed Ken Levine co-founder of irrational games the people who made Bioshock and he said that the online protection is nothing todo with the game designers and the limit will be reduced in the near future and then totally removed.

well, that's illegal and perpetuates the 'games are for kids' misconception that the tabloids like to grab hold of and point fingers over.

heh, no the police won't come knocking, but still, i can't condone breaking the law. (also for the record, being 16 makes you a kid. you never stop growing or learning, and you'd do well to remember that)

then again, since you're not british, i can only speak for the certification system here and not in dubai/egypt. who knows, it might be rated lower.

well i can now buy my Bioshock copy , apply the "fix" , don't activate it, play the game and sell it , since it has no replayability value.
