hello, for the time being i have my e6300 in my gigabyte ep45-ud3p and it reads the cpu as being 22c idle and 38c full load. Each core idles at 39c and max load is at 55-57c. All of these temps are from everest. Im just curious of how my cpu is idling at 22c when ambient is 20c.

Cpu is overclocked to 2.6ghz and i have a zerotherm nirvana cooling it. thanks

Compare the Everest temps with another program such as Core Temp. I used to have that processor and I got temp readings almost as good using a Tuniq Tower with my e6300 @ 3.2ghz, so your your readings seem pretty accurate.

make sure TjMax is set correctly. Some programs have it at a too low default. Since temp sensors basically report the distance to this TjMax, and not actual temp, you can be consistantly 5 degrees low.

well the cores match realtemp and coretemp but the cpu temp istelf is not listed in those programs. I know the temp of the cpu itself doesnt make that much difference but im just curious. The temp im talking about is cpu not core 1/2. Thanks

also check the readings of cpu temp from your bios and from easytune software provided by gigabyte (under windows)
