Rant Tesco / Virgin internet funniness?

So I'm wondering if anyone else is having issues with their Tesco / Virgin / any provider internet today?

Most of my internet is running fine at the moment at normal speed, Spotify, Google and Bit-tech are working perfectly for example. However Facebook, Steam and Hotmail are all failing to work on my desktop and I know Facebook at least isn't working on my laptop.

I've ran traceroot for the offending websites and it gets into the Virgin servers then the requests start to time out e.g. similar to what AT&T users were getting during the 4chan ban.

Please don't say this is just me

 

Now you mention it, i was just about to reply to a facestock email but it'll not connect.... very odd.

i have had to reset my modem twice today here on virgin crap. But its cable and pretty relaible most of the time.

 

I have been having problems with Facebook for the past 2 days and hotmail is loading very slowly.

The Internet is getting slower every day, so these things are to be expected. Hopefully major upgrades of backbones will prevent the Internet from gridlocking in the next few years.

 

Well - at least I know it's not me. All my visited sites are working fine (Livejournal is slower) and Facebook isn't working at all.
All on VM.

 

Having problems here as well everything is taking so long to load and some sites are not loading at all.

Had some issues today. Thought it was strange!

 

Also had problems with hotmail and facebook today with Virgin, resetting the modem helped briefly but it seems fine now.
