Hello Folks, I have a budget of £250 to spend on a Nvidia card and was hoping to get some advice as to which one to purchase. I have been looking at the Gigabyte http://www.scan.co.uk/products/4gb-gigabyte-gtx-760-pcie-30-(x16)-6008mhz-gddr5-gpu-1085mhz-boost-1150mhz-cores-1152-dport-dvi-d-dv and the MSI http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=GX-214-MS Would very much appreciate your input and alternatives. Thanks
I'd go EVGA personally - this one in fact http://www.scan.co.uk/products/2gb-...08mhz-gddr5-gpu-1072mhz-boost-1137mhz-cores-1 or maybe even this at a slight stretch to your budget EVGA 760 F.T.W. Edit: Just to clarify why I prefer EVGA it's because of their warranty - if you ever wanted to sell the card on you can just transfer the warranty to the buyer unlike other companies...
All cards are within a few % of each other unless they come with silly overclocks. For Nvidia cards EVGA is best due to warranty.
As mrbungle says you're only looking at a couple of % at best - in some rare cases you can see big differences but, looking at reviews, the gigabyte, for example, on gets 1-2fps more on something like Crysis 3 than the stock card.
I think the 760s are overpriced. There were a spat eof reduced 670s for sub £200. There were some deals on 680s; a better buy imo. Not sure if there any still about? Does it have to be nvidia? In that price range I would look at a decent 7950 for sub £200.
If it's Nvidia for you then why aren't you getting something like a GTX 670 or a GTX 680 even? The 760 is almost exactly the same as the GTX 670 performance wise for a very low price in the low £200 mark. If you look for a good deal you can get a GTX 680 for about the same price as what you're looking at. The newer card isn't always better.
What's up with a 680? Failing that, a superclocked or F-T-W 670. Don't be sucked in by the 760, when better cards are available.
If it *MUST* be a Nvidia card the look for a GTX680. It is better than the 760 in every regard. 760's are good as long as they are below £200. Going outside of Nvidia (why not?) then the HD7970Ghz / R9 280x and even the cheaper 7950 are all worthy of a look.
Blimey - didn't realise how much 680s had dropped in price - definitely one of those then over a 760 then. A quick look around reveals this one for about £250 but no EVGAs for that price. Also this one for less than £250 on Scan's today only page which will expire soon
