Your mate is too right with that. We aren't American so we really don't need it here, can Black Friday please bog off now ?
Black Friday is the ultimate expression of our throwaway, disposable, consumerist society. People will quite happily attack, maul, and trample each other in order to be the one that gets to spend their money first. **** Black Friday, **** Cyber Monday, and **** the January sales.
Went to PC World got a laptop bag was suppose to be £16, I got it for £9 but its not for my laptop it's for my sarnies and tablet. I've been looking for something suitable for a while to replace my carrier bag lol. Me and my other half went into look at chest freezers but nothing too spectacular in deals. Managed to come away with a half price Canon wireless printer quite impressed with it at the moment.
Only thing I bought was the video card for my new computer. It's been on my Newegg watch list for months and they were offering it for $20 off so why not.
I looked and looked for anything interesting and found nothing. Amazon usually will have a few blu-ray lightning deals worth setting a timer for, but not this year. And nothing in the board game department either. It's like nobody tried at all. I've been needing a new laptop 2Tb drive so I picked on up with a minor discount. There's always a few good hard drive deals for black Friday, but they're almost always also external drives and you have to strip the enclosures off them. Other than that I really saw nothing at all. Most of the prices were revealed to be much cheaper at other points in time using a price history add-on for Chrome.
I too was under the impression that they didn't really try this year, much less interesting items on sale than last year. Also: amazon is rubbish at filtering
Will leave this here If People Who Sell Stuff Were Honest About Black Friday - Honest Ads https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KPgmgQxmUfU
They probably can't afford decent rebates any more due to all the packaging material they waste Seriously, order like six tiny items in one order and the mailman turns up with five parcels
How much tablet can you fit in a laptop bag? Just think of all that sugar - your teeth will be ruined!
Amazon is bad at filtering by design. If you have a black Friday deal at a big-box store then you are forced to go to the store and run the gauntlet of crap to find the thing you really want. Amazon does the same thing with their deals. "Look at all this crap! It's so cheap! The thing you want is around here somewhere. Keep clicking!" They've gamified their "deals" experience to effectively get people to click through a lot of ads. It's garbage and they know it, but they want it that way because they don't respect the consumer.
I've not seen a single piece of real computer hardware other than SSD's. Just lots of mice and headphones. and thats AFTER filtering for "Computer and Accesoires"
