I have one of those Moshi Moshi POP to use for voip on my pc. It's actually pretty nice and very good sound quality I've been told.
on a PC i can almost justify it as reasonable (although why wouldnt you just use a good quality headset?). but on a smart phone? really? that serves no practical purpose.
Yeah, it's a retro kitsch novelty item, but it's fun. The only real down side I would see to using it with a mobile phone is the fact that it's not exactly made with portability in mind. It would be necessary to have a messenger bag or something as it's not really going to go in a pocket. It is a lot more sane than the port-o-rotary for example though...
