No it isn't. The 7610 is the original Matrix phone, that Samsung thing is from the sequel; The Matrix Reloaded.

This was shown ages ago on http://mobile.burn.com/ :p

You'd have to be pretty freaky to be willing to walk around speaking into one of those.

No it wasn't it was the 8110. Many people think it was the 7110 but it REALLY wasn't. Watch the film again and look at a picture of the 7110 next to it and it's very different indeed.

7110 = great phone that broke too easily (I had one, RIP)
8110 = ok phone but now very, very old

Edit: here's the 8110, the original matrix phone:

(EDIT: Damn, beaten to it.. but I'm keeping my post anyway so youse know I was right too ;))
Oh *sigh* here we go again..

Right, the Phone from the Matrix is a modified 8110 which lets it's sliding cover spring down automatically. They were never made commercially and the ones in the film had a shedload of crap hidden in their palm to make it work.

The 7110 was the commercial nokia product which had the sliding fascia and wasn't included in the film because it wasn't ready in time.

Yeah, it was a modified 8110. They made the slide automatic which the retail version didn't have.
But by the time The Matrix came out, the 8110 (aka 'Banana') was old news so they pimped the 7110 as the 'trix phone.
