    Article posted here.

AN ALLIANCE OF HACKERS dubbed the Hackers Against America (HAA) has had its website defaced by er a Hacker.
The group, which has its site based deep in the Russian Confederation, boasts that it has links to the Al Qaeda terror group.

According to Zone-H, when news of HAA's association with terror groups got out, it so peaked a Portuguese hacker called Marcos that he wrote to them and gave them a piece of his mind.

In return he received an email from HAA which was so full of abuse and general naughtiness Marcos decided to get his own back....

Hehe, serves them right. You really would've thought that a bunch of malicious hackers would know to update their software. Oh well.

So if a hacker is a cracker, what's a cracker? My previous understanding was a hacker broke into remote machines and a cracker reversed engineered software to change its behaviour.

The proper definition of a hacker, not the stupid dumb definition invented by the "media" is someone who hacks away at source code (as Fly said). Like the guys who pioneered the Internet back in the 60s/70s etc. These people are highly skilled.

Crackers (or Malicious Hackers) are those that either break into computer systems to deface websites, steal information etc or those that reverse engineer stuff, break encryption/copy protection schemes and produce keygens. These people are generally pretty skilled.

Then there are the Script Kiddies. These are usually immature 12 year olds who download ready-made tools from the web and think they're highly skilled because they can break into unpatched boxes, when they're nothing but little snotty nosed kids that need more parental supervision. Problem is, these people are usually the most destructive of the 3 groups, as they end up in control of hundreds, possibly thousands of infected machines with which they can DoS anyone who bad mouths them or doesn't do what they want. These people need shooting.

    Or something like that. :thumb:

I love it when crackers get pwnzed. Such a filthy race of people, dont even use their ingenuity to gain access, just tryed and tested methods of fooling operating systems! agh
