Hmm... It's only hooked up to 5V, I don't know any easy way to get 3V from an AT (or even ATX) PSU (does AT even use 3V?). That and the jumper's seem to be randomly changing the LEDs, I had hoped it'd be more like X jumper turns on X LED...

well the orange lines are 3.3v. Perhaps the one use of an AUX line is that spare 3.3v one for powering LEDs :)

As for green LEDs going orange... that just sounds bizarre.... and an LED would certainly die before giving off noticible heat.

All of them take 5v, your not over powering it :p And yes, the resistor's do get very hot (don't quite know why, but they do). The LED's shouldn't though, unless you've got a setup with the resistor mounted inside the LED housing. And yes, the jumpers do preattymuch randomly turn on/off the LED's :p Try hooking up a turbo switch (or put a jumper over two pins where it should be), it will usualy make it work properly ;) (IE the jumpers seem more logical).

And D B, thanks for editing your post :thumb: Much cheers.

neato. i can think of a couple times i could have used one of those. especially when trouble shooting different PC components and i dont feel like putting it all inside a case and attaching all those bull mularky wires. i hafta make one of these...or burn the house down with the soldering iron in the process.

Um, would it work as a cmos reset switch?

I think that if you were to use it as a cmos reset switch, it would need to be normaly closed. Just a thought, as the jumper is normaly closed. Or is there a way to use a normaly open switch.

    hey, regarding them pics.
i personally feel that if u take the pics from further away without the component occupying the whole cam screen with macro, at a high res, u would be able to get a decent image of the component which u can then crop down. just my 2 cents worth cos i tried it and works a treat!

no offence whatso ever here, just offering some useful suggestions :D
