So I have been looking for a tall/large case for a while to replace my Air540. Preferably tall with the buttons etc on the top. The Xigmatek Elysium is the sort of case I was looking at but they're very expensive to buy new and 2nd hand seem very rare. So I found the Thermaltake V71 which looks nice enough - however I read in one review a very vague explanation that if you use the rear hidden HDD hanging brackets you can't use the three HDD cages. I am trying to confirm if this is really the case? All this is mainly because I have quite a few hard drives and want a case that'll fit them without looking too much of a mess. Does anyone have any experience with the TT V71? Cheers
Looking at this video (around the 10:30 mark) It would appear that (a) in order to use the hidden drive thingy you need to use two of the trays from the front of the case and (b) that it may well make accessing the back of the drives in the cages very awkward although he doesn't say that it'll be impossible...
I've got my HAF X if it suits? Its in the MP. Mods, hope you don't mind the post, if its against any rules, please delete. Thanks.
I actually saw that video just after i'd made the post and also thought damnit - they block all the connections anyway when you hang them. SOOOOO Annoying. The case is PERFECT except for that one main thing. I was hoping to have a 3 in the top and two hanging. Then use the 5.25 for a HDD aswell. Having many HDD is a PITA! And Noob? I've looked at the HAF-X but I just can't bring myself to like its look. Cheers for the notice though. Thanks for the info guys, Pete
