Getting out of the shower and my OH going "wtf is that on the back of your leg?" and turning to see a mahoosive bruise on my calf and thinking I may have banged it but not sure when or where.

Yup. Can't remember anything in particular that made me go bejeebus fricking mother fracker that would explain it.

Following reading something in another thread: The number of well known people dying and, mentioned in the news media, who were younger than me when they died...

Not "well known," but a sobering thought all the same: in two years this April, I'll be the same age my dad was when he died.

Keeping with spirit of things that make YOU feel older, isn't everyone younger than you? :p:

There is a lot more younger than older but, the only alternative to getting older, is dying young...

My wife gave me one of those when you were born fact sheets. the staggering thing for me, was seeing almost 3/4 of the people on the planet. Were born in my life time.

My brother turns 45 this year, and I'm three years his junior. Despite being relatively young, this made me feel old lol.

I like to think it was an attractive young lady that moved her bag, scooched over and patted the empty seat beside her.

    Every day.

Every day makes me feel older.

    Now, which bit aches today?

My grandson, when I look at him and is mad energy, lucky for us my daughter had to move back with us after her partner did not want anything to do with her and him, so the last seven years have been great watching him grow up.

Honestly, the more I think about, it’s this:

I’ve had an account here for longer than some of my colleagues at work have been alive.

    I’m 42, I’m not even that old.

Nah, hard disagree I’m afraid .

It might just be the type of music I listen to, but some of the best music I’ve ever listened to has been made in the last 5 years or so. I felt the same 20-odd years ago too, that’s one of the amazing things about art .

Don’t get me wrong mind, there’s a lot of shite out there too . But that’s always been the case.

I caught myself unironically saying this a few week ago.

Me too, most of my favourite music is around 20 to near 60 years old...

So much traffic and, such broken roads, driving is not often fun anymore, so those become the priorities.

As Pink says, before the trial in The Wall, "put them up against the wall."

When I were a young’un, Radio 2 presenters all seemed old to me, now many are much younger than me…

Radio 2 headed down hill when Sir Tel departed this mortal coil, and ceased to exist* for me when Ken Bruce was given the elbow.

*aside from the wonder years on a Saturday.

Back then, my morning commute was about sixty miles - I'd usually just left the M1 and got through Chesterfield as Sarah Kennedy finished up on the Dawn Patrol at 7.30, then I have another 20-30 minutes of Wogan as I drove through the Derbyshire Dales, before I got to the office. More than a few times, I pulled off the road because I was laughing so hard.

    I do miss him.

Sadly, Sir Tel left us before I could use my planned TOGG name in anger - I was to be "Alain Cohen-Dorff".
