Simple fact: manufacturer-labeled batteries are EXPENSIVE. That's why entrepreneurs have stepped in to try to make a buck by selling "compatible" third party batteries. I've had mixed experiences with third-party batteries, from just not working, to getting dangerously hot. Personally, I feel comfortable buying just the manufacturer-labeled batteries, if only because I believe (however falsely) that if something goes wrong, I can blame it on them. However, I'm annoyed with paying out the *insert obscene body part here* for their batteries, and I'm curious. Do you guys have any brands/types of batteries that should always/never be obtained from a third party rather than the manufacturer? Laptops, digital cameras, camcorders, etc.? Thanks!
