no point going amd because as soon as you start overcloking a intel chip it will be much faster than any amd chip in its price range so go for this build http://www.scan.co.uk/Products/Inte...re-28-GHz-8MB-Cache-Core-Ratio-21x-95W-Retail core i5 £148 http://www.scan.co.uk/Products/Giga...ess-S1156-DDR3-2200-SATA-3Gb-s-SATA-RAID-uATX gigabyte ud2 £82 http://www.dabs.com/products/corsai...12800-c9-1600mhz--cmx4gx3m2a1600c9--6ZPH.html corsair 1600 4gb £75 http://www.scan.co.uk/Products/Arct...1156-S775-AM3-AM2plus-AM2-939-Up-to-130-Watts! freezer 7 pro £17 http://www.scan.co.uk/Products/1GB-...700MHz-Shader-1400MHz-336Cores-DVI-D-Sub-HDMI 1 gb 460 gtx £167 http://www.scan.co.uk/Products/450W...Sli-ATX-EPS12V-PS-2-20-24-pin-5-year-Warranty corsair 450w £54 total £543 if you want to lower the cost you could go for a i3 which is still preety fast http://www.scan.co.uk/Products/Inte...Hz-4MB-Cache-73W-Integrated-GPU-733MHz-Retail £83 which means a total of £478 and still when you have overclocked it it will be faster than any of the other amd builds you speced
I have heard that the palit 460's are not so hot. If you are already spending £167 might as well just swallow the extra few Pounds and get the gigabyte version which everyone is going mad for for £175. Essentially, you just want to buy this (but with the i5-760 as its cheaper than the 750 for some awesome reason), which is nearly what bagman posted, obviously just omit the things like the case and hdd which you don't need yet. Edit: Overclocking the i5-750 (will be very similar to the 760) That should get your started nicely
or there is the evga which is £171 http://www.scan.co.uk/Products/1GB-...-Clock-1350MHz-336-Cores-2x-DL-DVI-I-MiniHDMI which has a worse cooler but does come with a life time warrenty if you sign up for it don't forget that!!!!!!
