I saw a similar challenge on a photographer's website I visit quite a bit because he lives in my area (www.zarias.com) and it prompted me to contact my local food bank and take promo pictures of them. I need to reconnect with them. I encourage anyone else to do the same, it helps all around. You get to contribute and get experience and people get something they normally wouldn't at this particular time.
Yeah, his website is a pretty incredible resource. I think he's making more teaching than shooting now. I have his onelight DVD and I recommend it highly. I'm getting into more portrait stuff and beyond the technical stuff just how he works with the subjects was worth it for me alone. Plus, he does everything he does on a very modest budget so it's stuff almost anyone can relate to.
