well yeah it was my fault. was stopped at a red light and the 2 people infront of me turned right and im like oh green light went through and got hit.

And no its not headed to the scrap heap. been driving it since 2 days after it got hit. and i have a new fender and door then all the damage will be repaired.

(they guy that hit me was doing 55 in a 30 and didnt get a tickit....)

EDIT: its definatly not heading for the scrap heap because its a 1974 monte carlo all origional interior with 57k miles.

I used an quater mile calculator:
    Car weight: 5200 lbs.
    Horsepower: 350 hp
    Configuration: Rear Wheel Drive

    Results
    Quarter Mile Acceleration: 15.528 seconds.
    Terminal speed: 95.2069 mph.
    -------------------------------------------------------------------------------
    Car weight: 3340 lbs.
    Horsepower: 240 hp
    Configuration: Front Wheel Drive

    Results
    Quarter Mile Acceleration: 15.350 seconds.
    Terminal speed: 97.2906 mph
    --------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Factor in that i got lots of goodes like Traction control, better suspention, ABS, a modern tranny and 100,000 miles less on the car, we have a clear winner. :)

Im gonna trade in for a 2006 model with a V8. Lets see what they say about that:
    Car weight: 3340 lbs.
    Horsepower: 305 hp
    Configuration: Front Wheel Drive

    Results
    Quarter Mile Acceleration: 14.171 seconds.
    Terminal speed: 105.3916 mph.

Sorry i don't mean to upset you or anything. :)

how can your car have 100,000 miles less then my car that has 57k miles. and what does ABS have to do quartermile time.

EDIT: and where did you get a quartermile calculator.

1, i did a google for quater mile calculator, :p
2, i took a guess that your car had over 100,000 miles as most 20+yr old cars do.
3, 2006 monte is still front, but now the SS will be a 305 HP 5.3l V8 with displacement on demand to replace the 240hp Supercharged 3.8l.
    :)

Quater mile calculators do exist but you need a hell of a lot more information that what froggy has at his disposal to get any sort of accurate result.

For starters you need bore, stroke, compression ratio, number of cylinders, final drive ratio, diff ratio, dyre diametre, vehicle weight. From that information you can get a reasonably accurate estimate of horsepower, ET and terminal speed.

    321 BHP
No where near 5 tonnes (about 1600kg)
    RWD

    0-60 in 5.2 seconds, Limited top end 155mph (good for ~168mph de-restricted)

    :p

(No I've not started this as a flame war! I'm just taking the mickey!)
