The iPad is a great bit of kit, take it too work most days and browse the web, or read a book. Oh so very handy.

I just ordered a 32GB Wifi/3G from zavvi on ebay.

Got it for 499.99 GBP Pretty good deal.

A few uni mates have got them and i have owned the 3GS and now the iphone 4 so the user interface and wealth of apps is what did it for me.

After months of waiting for Ipad 2 and pesting the missus, she just gave me the money to buy myself one, mind you she is expecting a nice gucci watch to go along with the personalised reg plate i bought her.

I'll let you knwo my thoughts on it when it arrives!

Been playing with the iPad all day , 3G connectivity y is fast and wifi much quicker, got most my favourite apps loaded although the amount of apps is not as thorough asnthe iPhone it is still amazing.

Web browsing is by far the best on the iPad, being able to pan zoom and pinch to zoom the web gives you unparalleled freedom. Highly recommended!

Need for speed hot pursuit is a must have and is on sale for 59p at the minute!

I just wrote this on my iPad and it is more or less the same speed as my laptop when placed on the lap

Having looked at alternatives by Samsung and some generic nameless brand I must say that Apple still has the only decent tablet out there. It is just right in every way. It could only be bettered by having a decent handwritten note-taking app.

The competition is still dilly-dallying. The WePad was available for pre-order in April. It still is. Meanwhile it has swapped its Android OS for Meego. And that one was a very impressive looking running prototype, not a mock-up like the HP Slate or Asus offerings. I'm not expecting a serious competitor to materialise before Summer 2011 now. Until that happens there is no reason for Apple to release an iPad 2.

The ipad has pros and cons, im neither an apple hater or lover, I'm a consumer :D

Before you do any purchasing thought, check out the Adam from Notion Ink.

Pros: more memory, unlocked, bigger screen, ebook reflective mode, better battery life, front/rear swivel camera, more sensors, faster processor, expandable memory, and cheaper

Cons: If you want the App store, have to put up with Android store instead. No-one is quite sure when it'll be released. New company so uncertainty.

Like the above poster, I'm not an Apple lover or hater. They do some things well and some things badly. I do think the iPad is the best tablet on offer though. As a device for media, gaming and web browsing it's hard to beat. It does have excellent battery life and access to iTunes, AppStore and iBooks (or Kindle if you prefer) out the box, which it's competitors can't match. I'm personally holding off for the next iPad, because I'd like a higher resolution screen.
